South China Ecological History Research Center

South China Ecological History Research Center was established in October 2012, and its director is Professor Zhong Haiyan. Based on the researchers from the school of resources and environment, the schoolof forestry, the school of Humanities and law, and the cooperativeinstitutions outside the University, the center is a cooperativeresearch base dedicated to the natural sciences and the humanitiesand social sciences related to the ecological history of South China,which is established by integrating the research forces inside andoutside the University. The research of South China ecologicalhistory research center is an interdisciplinary study of naturalscience and humanities. The center mainly relies on the "KeyLaboratory of South China Tropical Agricultural Environment of theMinistry of agriculture" and "China Agricultural HistoricalHeritage Research Institute of South China Agricultural University",using the theoretical and empirical research of ecology relateddisciplines, combined with historical documents, local archives,field investigation data and social investigation data are the mainmeans to carry out research.

Incombination with the ideas and characteristics of interdisciplinaryeducation, the center constantly improves the scientific researchsystem and basic conditions, builds a reasonable incentive mechanismand management mechanism, makes full use of and gives full play tothe advantages of the subject resources that can be grafted by theschool, and gathers more than 20 experts and young scholars who areengaged in agricultural ecological research in the school(Part-time); and is committed to organizing and carrying outagricultural ecological history, forestry ecological history and soilSystematic research in the fields of ecological history, ruralecological social history and other characteristic fields has beenconstantly expanding the frontier research fields. At present, theresearch members of the center have undertaken or participated inmore than 30 national, provincial and ministerial level and otherspecial entrusted projects, presided over one major project of theNational Social Science Fund, and obtained many awards or awards.
