OnJune 12, Researcher Lin Rui, Secretary-General of GuangdongProvincial Ancient Books Protection Center, Researcher Luo Huanhao,Deputy Secretary-General, and Researcher Xiao Ling, Director of theSpecial Collection Department of Zhongshan Library of GuangdongProvince, and their entourages came to our institute to inspectagricultural Reconstruction of the special warehouse for historicaland ancient books and guide the declaration of the "Sixth Batchof National Precious Ancient Books List". Professor YangNailiang, Dean of the School of Humanities and Law, Professor NiGenjin, Director of the Institute of Agricultural History, ProfessorWang Fuchang, Deputy Director, and Teacher Yang Liu from the SpecialCollection Office participated in the reception.

PresidentYang Nailiang extended a warm welcome to the visit of the provincialancient book protection experts and his party. Professor Ni Genjinbriefly introduced the retrofitting project of our library dedicatedto ancient books and the recent application of "NationalPrecious Ancient Books Directory". Afterwards, the expert teamwent to the ancient book store to check the transformation effect andextract the original books of the precious ancient book list. Lin Ruiand his party expressed their affirmation of the results achieved inthe retrofitting of the ancient book storehouse of our institute;experts reviewed the corresponding original books of the ancientbooks one by one against the declaration form, judged the value ofthe version, deliberated on whether the reasons for the declarationwere reliable and sufficient, and proposed amendments andimprovements. The inspection also found some other valuable preciousancient books, such as Ming Dynasty manuscripts collected by RuanYuanwen, a famous scholar in Qing Dynasty, and the expert grouprecommended applying for the next batch of "National PreciousAncient Books List."
